4 years later

I am preparing for the fourth Susan G. Komen cancer walk since I became one of the 1 in 8 women statistics who is diagnosed with cancer. Its been an emotional couple of months. I find myself creating a tone of "things" for me to do to stay busy. My breast reconstruction is successful. I have had the surgery to make faux nipples and the tattoos. The scars are faint. The breasts look great in clothing and fine without. I think I have

My Heroes for today!

For a world that seems so fast paced, shallow and based on consumer spending, I am feeling an AMAZING, OVERWHELMING since of "geese, the people in my life are amazing" I have to throw some props out to some people today. I wish I had done this everyday because so many people have been awesome to me. But instead of beating myself up or not doing it in fear of hurting someone else's feelings. "I can start today!" Maybe thats my new motto. This morning on her way to work, I text Laura (primary babysitter/nanny) and asked her to get my prescription. They weren't open. She came into the house. 1 Week after 3rd Chemo - interesting day as a mom

So I decided to take the day off. I had a VERY busy day off, but it was awesome. I focused 97% (LOL) on the kids this morning. Typically I am trying to get myself ready, distracted my emails or phone message etc etc. Not today. I caught myself and refocused. Oh My Goodness do things go SOO much smoother when I do that. After the boys were ready for school and did 2 of 5 daily todo's (they practiced their Karate and their piano) I let them free play. I went with Lena to watch/help her get ready and let the boys wrestling around ( I told myself, Laura does it.) Ok I have to share a flashback with you. I noticed a trend about a year ago. When I took the kids to school in the morning they typically had a "rougher" day then if Laura got them ready and took them to school in the morning. Why is that I wondered. Warning The pictures you are about to see, may gross you out

So some of you have been asking for pictures. And I don't really mind sharing them. So if you are a bit squeamish do not scroll down.The pain is primarily in the pectoral muscle area. I believe were the expanders where put it. My left arm pit hurts (from where the lymph nodes were removed). I have very little bruising. The swelling is mostly under my arms they left a lot of the skin (I am guessing for the reconstruction) The skin pouch underneath is hard like something is left in there. I will be asking the Dr. about it on Wednesday.
